This project was geared towards the exploration of spatial relationships and hierarchies present when moving through volumes of space as well as the relationship between point of view and field of vision in conjunction with movement. Further more the project seeks to create space through the contradiction of mass and the frame.

The mass of the model is constructed from a lamination of a heavy plywood which was then articulated through a highly subtractive process. The framing elements however, were constructed through an assemblage of lighter wooden linear elements. The play between these two processes of making then in turn created the spaces that could be experienced.

Because this project was more about spatial theory than meeting a given series of programmatic needs it was consider a site less and program less object. In an effort to give the project a bit more substance, I choose to think of it as a sort of monument to time, that made use of the cardinal directions to assist the planning of the circulation. I consider the highest level of the project as a kind of platform for outward observation and inward reflection, which emphasizes the passage of time through its east to west orientation.
